    The obverse features a young bust of Queen Victoria (b1819-1901). VICTORIA D:G: BRITTANIAR:REG:F:D: (Victoria by Grace of God, British Queen, Defender of the Faith) surrounds the bust . The obverse was designed by William W. Wyon. The reverse has St. George slaying the dragon. This rendition of St. George was designed by Benedetto Pistrucci. The date 1873 is at the bottom .
